Kaitlin Keet graduated from Rhodes University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Journalism. Her degree specialisation was Communications Design, a discipline of journalism which, coupled with a second major in Organisational Psychology, endowed her with a uniquely combined tertiary education. This degree deepened Kaitlin’s interest in the role of media as a powerful mediator of our experience of the world whilst also furnishing her with insights into the complex field of human behaviour within the workplace.
An insatiable desire to explore saw Kaitlin immerse herself in the multifaceted cultures of South Korea and Zanzibar for two years ahead of returning to Cape Town to further her career in the creative sector.
In 2013, Kaitlin joined a Cape Town based Communications Agency with a specialised focus on facilitating socio-economic change and upliftment through compelling media, communications and design. Both her role at the company and passion for philanthropic business practice flourished rapidly as she conceptualised, created and oversaw communications campaigns for prominent international non-governmental organisations such as The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Médecins Sans Frontières MSF).
Eager to pursue an industry change and broaden her horizons, Kaitlin joined a premium South African yoga and wellness brand, Sentiens, in 2017. Here, she played a direct support role to the business owner and gained invaluable and varied hands-on experience in the challenging mechanisms of a startup business venture. Her role at Sentiens pushed her to sharpen her commercial acumen as she profiled, identified and generated international sales leads and managed and reported on the business’ paid advertising. Creating meaningful, distinctive communications material to deepen brand resonance with targeted segments was a favourite of Kaitlin’s diverse responsibilities.
In 2018, Kaitlin’s eagerness to further her career in the realm of high tier brands led her to joining Luxury Branding where she now serves as Studio Manager. Her role is perfectly positioned at the intersection of her core competencies and experience: project management, client liaison and brand strategy.
As an active member of Cape Town’s outdoor community, Kaitlin spends much of her leisure time outdoors taking advantage of the city’s breathtaking surroundings. Her flair for interior design speaks to her creative sensibilities, as does her curiosity for exploring new cuisines, both within the city’s vibrant restaurant scene and her own kitchen.
