What is Shopping Tourism?

In collaboration with Value Retail PLC, we designed and facilitated a series of ‘by invitation’ roundtable seminars to position Chic Outlet Shopping as a thought leader in this growing sector.

During these discussions, we investigated a range of connected issues that reside at the intersection of luxury travel and retail, a new space that has emerged in recent years.

Through events that began in 2012, we examined the relationship between luxury brands and tourism. We travelled to all the main international tourism conventions including WTM, ITB, ATM and ILTM (Cannes and Shanghai) to unearth the relationship between hospitality and fashion and how to meet the needs of the new luxury consumer-“the Luxury Globalista”.

Debates were conducted around how to put luxury experiences onto the map and the overlapping currents between hotel, high-end retail and luxury food and beverage industries.

The curation of topics at each event led to the development of interesting discourse about the changing nature of the industry.
