A native Zimbabwean, Brian Bainbridge was raised and educated in Cape Town, South Africa and throughout a distinguished creative career has worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, art and design director for some of the most renowned agencies in South Africa.
Demonstrating a rare depth of experience, acquired across a broad spectrum of clients with varied needs, Brian has delivered consistently innovative design solutions and campaigns.
Major assignments have exposed him to the energy, sports, retail and food & beverage sectors as well as the fashion, financial and FMCG industries. Past clients include Coca-Cola, South African Breweries (SAB), Shell Southern Africa, British American Tobacco, Adidas and Nike.
Brian’s broad immersion into so many facets of modern marketing has allowed him to develop an innate understanding of visual communications in the areas of corporate identity and advertising. Having completed premium product rebrands for Oude Molen VOV brandy and Redd’s cider for SAB, his expertise also extends into packaging design.

Brian’s portfolio of design and advertising credits was recognised in a string of local and international creative awards, including both a Gold and Grand Prix award in the esteemed Loeries (SA), two silver Clio Awards and eight shortlisted entries in the Cannes Lions and D&AD Awards.
Brian Bainbridge has worked with Luxury Branding since 2010 and assumed his current, permanent role as the firm’s first Design Director in early 2016, a position from which he now leads our growing creative team based in Cape Town.
At Luxury Branding, Brian has designed new corporate brands for pan-African investment bank Imara and leading Mauritian commercial and financial enterprises Terra, AfrAsia and SWAN. He has also been Design Director across all of the agency’s retained work for Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces as well as art director for a global advertising campaign on behalf of LUX* Resorts & Hotels.
Brian is currently leading the rebrand of a global hospitality design firm and the creation of a mould-breaking identity for an innovative new hospitality concept that is under development by Luxury Branding for one of the world’s most revered entertainment companies.
